Effective February 13, 2018 our office will no longer participate with United Healthcare Insurance Company, as
United Healthcare was not willing to recognize the quality care we have worked so hard to accomplish. This was not a light decision, however, with the change in healthcare, we are focused on meeting the goals we have always set to achieve.

copy of the letter sent to affected patients here.
We are available via phone and secure messaging to assist patients during this transition.
NOTE to 65+ patients: United Healthcare Medicare, AARP and Shell Medicare Advantage will still be accepted plans. Even though these plans are owned by United Healthcare, they are based on Medicare participation.

It is with mixed emotions, I share with you I will be leaving Quality Family Physicians (QFP) on July 21, 2017. It has been my honor to be part of the care team at QFP for the past 14 years. I wanted to take this opportunity to let you
know why I have made this difficult decision.
Many of you know about our family’s history, but for those of you who don’t our daughter Kara was diagnosed with brain cancer almost 10 years ago (when she was 4 years old). The physicians, staff, and patients at QFP offered amazing support
while she endured brain surgery, radiation to her brain and spine, and multiple rounds of chemotherapy. Along the way, she had 18 blood transfusions, countless therapy sessions, learned how to walk again, and we are blessed to say that her
cancer has not returned!
It has been a challenge to balance work and family obligations during this journey, but my mom was always right there to help making it possible. Sadly, my mom passed away a few months ago. Recently, Kara has had some additional health
issues. While we are extremely thankful that her symptoms are NOT due to her cancer coming back, she still needs our support. It has become clear to us that I needed to make this change.
I ask for your patience during this time of transition. The providers and staff are working hard to accommodate your ongoing care. Thank you in advance for understanding my decision to be there for my family.
My husband Larry, son Sean (about to be a high school senior) and Kara (who will be joining her big brother as she enters her freshman year at Garnet Valley High School), join me in thanking the providers, staff, and patients at Quality Family Physicians
for their ongoing support. We wish you all the best in the future.
